These days, with WordPress and most other blogs, you can create as many "pages" as you want. You can create as many pages as you want if you would like to put up all your personal biographical data or professional skills along your blog. You can also have a page with your portfolio. I don't think setting up a blog and a website -- both -- is a good idea. Instead, it's just a waste of time. I also think that intelligent people will get the job done by that way -- adding extra pages to meet necessity. :) I strongly believe a website is less important than a blog that is frequently updated.
