Dr. Todd Perla says the continual return of Jews to Jerusalem is a fulfillment of prophecy and a sign of things to come. “Israel is the barometer for which we know we are in the last days,” otherwise known as the “tribulation” or “end times.” A born again Christian, Dr. Perla has spent the past 23 years intensely studying Scripture. He is particularly passionate about end times prophecy discussed in the book of Revelation, as it harmonizes with the rest of The Bible.
Recently host Ron Meyers from WAOY Radio (FM 97.7) spoke with author Dr. Todd Perla about this topic and his new book, End Times Church Deception (WinePress, 2008).
In his writings, Dr. Perla emphasizes the rapture of the church occurring near the end of tribulation, a perspective that dates back to the early church fathers and is widely supported in ancient prophecies and teachings of great men such as Luther, Calvin, Spurgeon, and Wesley. “From the time of Christ’s ascension into heaven, Christians have eagerly anticipated his return. In recent times, more biblical prophecies have been fulfilled, setting the stage for the end times to unfold. The most important signpost for the beginning of the end is the nation of Israel.”
Perla writes to prepare Christians for the end times and the challenges marshaled in by the tribulation. Perla feels a right understanding of end times events is essential to avoid the end times church deception he writes about. “Time may be shorter than we think, and we need to be as committed to Christ as we can and make the most of every opportunity we have to serve the Lord and evangelize the lost.”
