Martin Luther, John Calvin, Charles Spurgeon, George Whitefield, William Tyndale, and John Wesley
What did these great preachers and theologians of the past have in common? They all believed, spoke, and wrote about a post-tribulation rapture. The doctrine of a pretribulational rapture was unknown to them.
So where did the idea of a pretribulational rapture originate, why has it become so popular in North America, and what does the Bible really say about the end times? Todd Perla, author of End Times Church Deception (WinePress, 2008), believes Christians need to know the answers to these questions for several reasons.
- First, if the Bible indeed teaches of a rapture near the end of the tribulation period, then Christians need to be prepared for severe persecution.
- Second, believers can be encouraged knowing these “end times” truths. Though difficult times lie ahead, eternity with the Savior will follow close behind.
- Third, God promises blessing to those who read and understand the book of Revelation:
“Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near” (Rev. 1:3).
Christ Jesus is coming, and He will be revealed to all in great glory! He will not come in silence or meekness, but in awesome power and majesty—to rescue his people and judge the ungodly. Are you ready?

I clicked onto your website because it mentioned some of the great theologians and preachers of all times. And Post-Tribulation needs to be brought back to the fore-front for everyone’s sake. The problem is if you try to speak to some of these set-in-their-way preachers, they get angry at you because they immediately explain to the young wipper snappers how they have been studying the Bible for 30-40 years and they are convinced of a Pre-Trib Rapture. After all, it is obvious to everyone that when John is called up in the Spirit into Heaven, you can just tell the entire Bride is right there behind him! Right? Wrong! Even before I knew much at all about the Post-Trib, I never understood how Pre-Tribs believed the Bride followed John in the Spirit into Heaven in Rev. 4:1. There simply is nothing mentioned there to indicate the Bride, the Church, or the Body of Christ is with John at all. It is extremely clear that Jesus’ resurrection was the First Fruits. The first resurrection isn’t mentioned until chapter 20, after an angel comes down from Heaven and “having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.”
Verse four of chapter twenty not only explains the salvation of those who were beheaded, but also all who HAD NOT received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands. Many times, old time preachers will mention the beheaded souls salvation, who sometimes have been there a while, but conveniently leave out the mark of the beast. The First resurrection isn’t mentioned until Rev 20:5-6.
I am reading The Last Trumpet by Robert Johnston who states, page 17, that the 1st rapture will be after the 6th seal, he also states that “those who where not ready and worthy to meet Christ as well as those who are not saved” “who did not wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb” “will go through trials to be purified and will be delivered before the wrath of God” at a later stage. I could not read another page after this! It took a lot of effort and cost,to get the book to South-Africa and in the end not worth it! Rev 20:4-6 “Blessed and Holy are those who have part in the FIRST RESSURRECTION…..(not a 2nd ).they will reign with him a 1000yrs.” I ask you, will God really give those “that have fallen away before the rapture occurred” a second chance? Where is that teaching in the Bible? If you are LUKE WARM God will spit you out of his mouth Rev 3:16, no second chance! There will be One Rapture, One Reaping ” for the harvest on the earth is ripe” Rev 14:14-16. One rapture according to 1 Cor15:51-52 at the LAST TRUMP. Teaching that their is a second chance to be saved and purified, is dangerous and a heresy. On the back cover you state that R Johnston will “cut through the confusion (of Jesus’ return) and provide practicle simple answers” I wonder which Bible college he attended, why does he not say? Its seems to me that this man is out to make money out of his book sales to unsuspecting trusting Christians. BE AWARE, FOR MANY WILL COME IN HIS NAME, DECEIVING MANY.
