The Three Life Leadership Lessons

Join host Latrice Foye of WGLB (1560 AM) interviewed Pleasant Word author Larry Matejka about his book, The Three Life Leadership Lessons.

“In a time where leadership skills have been buried, to say the least, Larry Matejka has written a very simplistic yet effective way of resurrecting them. If you are a parent, teacher, preacher, employer or a community leader desiring to develop or enhance your leadership skills, this book, The Three Life Leadership Lessons is for you.”
Min. Jerome C. Rivers, LPCC-S, LIMFT, CTLC & SS, CCDC-1
Associate Minister and Clinical Supervisor

With over twenty-five years of experience in leadership and thousands of hours coaching and training leadership, Larry continues to state that his credentials are, that he has no credentials. He says, “You don’t need to be molded by any special formula or knowledge, you need to be unfolded and get back in touch with internal tools you already have.”

Larry Matejka is president of Life Leadership Lessons LLC, a training and consulting company based in Cleveland, Ohio, dedicated to helping for-profit and non-profit organizations improve their leadership and culture. He is Director of Organizational Development for a mid-Western service company as well president of Love INC, a non-profit ministry that connects resources to those people with crisis needs.

Martin Luther, John Calvin, Charles Spurgeon, George Whitefield, William Tyndale, and John Wesley

What did these great preachers and theologians of the past have in common? They all believed, spoke, and wrote about a post-tribulation rapture. The doctrine of a pretribulational rapture was unknown to them.

So where did the idea of a pretribulational rapture originate, why has it become so popular in North America, and what does the Bible really say about the end times? Todd Perla, author of End Times Church Deception (WinePress, 2008), believes Christians need to know the answers to these questions for several reasons.

  • First, if the Bible indeed teaches of a rapture near the end of the tribulation period, then Christians need to be prepared for severe persecution.
  • Second, believers can be encouraged knowing these “end times” truths. Though difficult times lie ahead, eternity with the Savior will follow close behind.
  • Third, God promises blessing to those who read and understand the book of Revelation:

“Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near” (Rev. 1:3).

Christ Jesus is coming, and He will be revealed to all in great glory! He will not come in silence or meekness, but in awesome power and majesty—to rescue his people and judge the ungodly. Are you ready?

Who Says a Woman Can’t Change?

So asks WinePress author Claudia Ward. The subtitle, 8 Ways to Prove She Can gives us a hint that perhaps change is possible.

Are you a believer whose life is empty and without meaning? Yet without change, discipline can become drudgery, our relationships sour, and we may wander from one thing to another looking for something to satisfy us.

Ward leads us to consider the lives of both biblical and modern women so that we can see the strength and power that change brought to their lives:

  • Wilma swept chicken feathers out of her truck, packed the neighbor kids into it, and took them to Sunday school year after year.
  • Edith surrendered her life as she knelt in the snow. God heard her cry.
  • Doris pushed Claudia up a Swiss mountainside to her destiny.
  • Abigail’s mama said, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” Abigail then prepared a feast for David and his two hundred angry men. It worked!
  • Beverly, a pastor’s wife, believed God was calling her to help bring America back to God. She started an organization to do just that.

Listeners in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia, along with WEMM AM & FM host Drew Damron, found out how Pleasant Word author Pam Stewart relied on God through it all. Her journey is chronicled in her book, Dancing in the Kitchen: A Woman’s Remarkable Walk in Faith.

Pleasant Word Author on KLEW TV

Author Kathie Ann Marchant will be interviewed on NW Morning on KLEW TV, based out of Lewiston, ID. June 2nd to be aired at a later date. The topic of discussion is her new, full color book Fortress of the Heart: A Transformation Proclamation (Pleasant Word, 2008).

In the journey from innocence to awareness the wounds we experience can drive us inward in a fearful effort to protect ourselves from further damage. But the walls that prevent the risk of pain in relationships also keep love from getting in, rendering us numb, isolated, and alone.

Marchant offers an honest account of her struggle to trust God and others after a teen peer attacks her, ending a carefree childhood. She unfolds her furious response, silent suffering, and desperate prayers to overcome bitterness and live life at the highest level of divinely appointed happiness.

In fifty readings, poems, and prayers, you will find yourself moving with Marchant from the shadows of the past towards an exhilarating release and learn to dismantle your own walls of defense, transforming your focus from self to others. Each brief devotional speaks of challenges to self-worth and of God’s healing power flowing to us through the beauty of others and the majesty of His creation. Marchant teaches readers through her own personal thoughts how a joyful existence can transpire by healing with forgiveness, praying always, and loving others.

Exquisite photography, inspiring scripture, wisdom, and touching stories provide a vivid travelogue of a soul in motion from an anxious stronghold in the heart to freedom beyond manmade barriers—in the secure, purpose-filled fortress of a faithful Creator.
