Valder Beebe Discovers the Meaning of ‘Emonetry’

Pleasant Word author Larry Burns will be speaking with Valder Beebe about the meaning of his book Emonetry-A Mellow Place.

Burns identifies with those who hurt. A lonely victim of child abuse and a recent cancer survivor, Larry now spreads God’s words of healing through his testimony of forgiveness and through his work with troubled youth.

His words of empathy in Emonetry, a compilation of poetry, make it easier for others to throw away their emotional crutches. This book helps build compassion, courage, and renewed strength in those who have suffered heartache, sickness, or disaster. Larry says his vision is to help rebuild the human spirit with faith and hope and to renew hearts of peace. “No matter whom you are or where you are, trust in God through the good times and bad. By the grace of God I made it through and so can you.”

‘Serving the Total Man’ Interviews Pleasant Word Author Live

Listeners in the greater Raleigh, NC area tuned in to hear hosts Shelia Wilson and Thomas Hill interview Peter Kurowski, author of The Seduction of Extremes (Pleasant Word, 2006). Serving the Total Man can be heard on WCLY 1550 AM.

Whether you are wrestling with the seeming contradictions encountered in the Bible, or simply seeking to chart a more moderate course in life between the chasms of religious freedom and Biblical legalism, this scholarly yet immensely readable work will entertain, inform and intrigue you.

Church members and church leaders suffering from Tension Deficit Disorder, a condition that arises when one fails to hold two seemingly opposing truths in proper balance, often teeter like drunkards from dangerous ditches on either the right or left of many issues, Kurowski says.

Readers will gain a clearer understanding and appreciation of Christ, who as the absolute paradox was both immortal God and mortal man, sinless yet took upon himself all of the sins of mankind, and who died in order to conquer death so that those who believe in him might have everlasting life after death.
