“Dr. Gilliam has done an exemplary job of taking an abstruse subject and making it both pellucid and pragmatic. My gifted colleague uses a plethora of verses in his task of laying out the reparenting principles.”
—Dr. Frank Minirth from the Preface
One of the seminars that Dr. Larry Gilliam leads is called, “Reparenting: A Re-opportunity to Have a Happy Childhood!” He refers to it as the most remarkably transforming of all his seminars. This workbook contains the heart of the material which Dr. Gilliam uses in that seminar.
Reparenting provides people the opportunity to work through and grow beyond certain deficits from childhood, which have followed them into adulthood, and may be causing them to back into the future focused on a painful past.
Deep inside you, there is a part of you that still thinks, feels, and reacts like a child. This is true because time alone does not heal all the wounds of childhood. There are actually steps and a process you must go through to nurture and heal the child within you. This process is called reparenting, and this workbook is the first of two volumes designed to walk you through it.
Too often, a child will repeat a dysfunctional pattern. Reparenting offers tools to abate this pattern. Just as God helped the Israelites of yesteryear with the concept of moving beyond the past, God can help us today.
