New Fiction Release ‘Discovering Abigail Rutherford’

With her head in her hands and a troubled heart, Abigail Rutherford sits on her bed contemplating her father’s words. An arranged marriage? At eighteen-years-old, she has just returned home from boarding school and is uncertain what to do with her life. But Abigail’s parents have decided for her—they have arranged for her to marry someone she knows little about, and loves even less.

In desperation, Abigail escapes from the confines of her upper-class home and plunges headlong into an unknown future. Who will befriend her? Where will she live? Will she ever see her parents and her beloved younger sister again?

Discovering Abigail Rutherford is set in the 1880s, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After leaving the security that wealth brings, Abigail embarks upon a new life in a farming community, where she finds the meaning of true friendship, hard work, faith, and love. But as a new Christian, she faces another dilemma: remain with her new-found friends and her heart’s love, Justin, or return home at God’s leading. While Abigail contemplates her options, the decision is unexpectedly made for her.
