Kudos from One of Our Satisfied Authors

We often receive comments from our authors about their experiences with WinePress/Pleasant Word. Since we don’t toot our own horn, we’ll let one of our authors share with you her experience with us:

I received the initial 55 books and my first order of 100 and they look really good. On Thanksgiving day I was surprised to hear from a friend that they bought it on-line and already had it at home. I looked, and there it was on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. I didn’t expect that to happen for a couple of months. Today I discovered that our local, small town library had ordered two copies and that both copies were out on loan.

The response has been amazing! I’m finding that in addition to women reading the book, both men and teenage boys are finding it a “can’t put it down” book. Even a non-reading father fascinated his son by staying glued to the book. The son said, “I can’t believe my father is reading a book.”

Some other comments were:
“I couldn’t stop reading it”
“I couldn’t put it down.”
“I was biting my lips as I read.”
“I broke out in a sweat and had to stop reading to catch my breath”
“I kept reading till my eyes couldn’t see anymore, then I picked it up again in the morning and read till I finished it. I neglected my work.”

I’m finding that people are getting them in multiples. One lady ordered 12 books and several ordered 5′s and 10′s. I’m ready to order the next 100.

SCREAM Quietly is an amazing story, but only because God was in it and orchestrated the events. There are so many miracles in this story. It’s incredible for me to fathom that our great God would stoop down to care for such an ordinary family. Thank you for your help in this project.

About Scream Quietly:

Do you believe in miracles? What would you do if you were caught in the throws of a devastating war as terror surrounds you? Where would you turn? Who would help you?

In September of 1939, Hitler’s Nazi war machine swept through Poland leaving a trail of destruction, torment, death and unspeakable horror. Innocent civilians found themselves caught in a maze of air raids, bombings, rifle fire, arrests, fear and destruction. They walked through streets littered with corpses, struggled to find food and drink, fought disease without doctors or medicine. They never knew what was around the next bend as they attempted to survive the horrors of World War II.

It was in this setting that Wanda, her infant daughter and two young sons, along with her extended family members, struggled to survive the atrocities of war and the occupation that followed.

This true story is one of suffering beyond human endurance and fierce courage as Wanda desperately seeks to guide her family to safety. With chaos all around, she continually turns to her abiding faith in God for help and strength.

This account is by turns, violent, tragic, comic, gentle, haunting and a deep testimony of faith.
